HEARSE: Sophomore Album To Surface In March
November 4, 2003Sweden's HEARSE, the band featuring former ARCH ENEMY/NONEXIST vocalist Johan Liiva and ex-FURBOWL drummer Max Thornell, have set a March 2004 release date through Holland's Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records) for their sophomore full-length album, "Armageddon Mon Amour".
The CD was recorded earlier this summer at Basement Audio System in Stockholm, Sweden with producer Jonas Elder. 13 tracks were laid down during the sessions, of which 11 will end up on the final album and the remaining songs will be used as bonus material. Among the cuts recorded for the effort are "Play Without Rules", "Ticket To Devastation", "Tools", "In Love And War", "Turncoat", "Sodi" and "Armageddon Mon Amour".
"This time we were much more focused [than we were on our debut, 'Dominion Reptilian']," Thornell writes on the band's web site. "And we knew a bit better what we really wanted. And it all sure sounds a lot better than the 'Dominion Reptilian' album, no doubt about that! It's heavier, rougher, punkier and filthier. No polished snygg-dansband-i-metal-tappning-sound! As usual there will be a lot of heavy riffing and also a bunch of guitarlicks & tricks and of course another round of ripping solos from guitar maestro Mattias Ljung. There is also vocalist John Liiva's characteristic voice, angrier than ever ending up coughing blood all over the studio floor. In short — another album for the diehard CANNIBAL CORPSE fans to hate!"
